  • Overview

    The position is responsible for directly manage the relationship, sales and service of large national accounts. The Manager of National Accounts is also responsible for working with the entire sales team and leading special projects/initiatives impacting whole team.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate efforts between Leviton Corporate Headquarters and the National Accounts headquarters
    • Indirectly direct the efforts of other sales managers who have a national account responsibility
    • Develop effective sales programs and help drive them to success
    • Hold regular review sessions with key headquarters and field management personnel designed to insure to / over forecast performance of these accounts
    • Interface with all management both in Business Unit/Division and in the field sales organization and any other disciplines
    • Lead price negotiations on a corporate end user level and individual plant level when necessary
    • Visit remote customer locations with other team members with enough frequency to develop relationships with key local decision makers in support of LES/ S+A goals for assigned National Account
    • Orchestrate senior management meetings between Leviton and customer for "Big Picture" strategy discussions.
    • Grow the business year over year at an acceptable profit margin for the Corporation
    • Manage a territory size between $ 5 -20 Million Be known at the end user customer as the "Go to Person" for all Leviton business matters
    • Achieve forecasted sales on new products
    • Establish annual revenue, product and program goals with the customer
    • Hold regular review sessions with the customer to insure goals and objectives are being meet or corrective action is taken where necessary
    • Report activities of the National Account on a monthly basis to Upper Sales Management and the VP/GM of the BU.
    • Promote the Total Capabilities of Leviton in order to position Leviton as the Wiring Device supplier of choice throughout the customer's organization
    • Coordinate all engineering efforts driving new product development and product improvements of existing items

    Qualifications

     

    Education & Experience

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or Engineering; MBA a plus
    • 5+ years experience in a National Accounts management role is typically required

    Skills & Abilities

    • Must be able to develop and execute national growth strategies
    • Must have thorough knowledge of industry standards and practices is also required
    • Must be creative, resourceful, able to think independently, provide leadership on projects
    • Must be able to make decisions at a management level, while reporting and justifying these decisions to the VP of Sales and corporate management
    • Must be well organized, an excellent time manager and able to handle multiple tasks on an ongoing basis
    • Must think globally in the approach to working with the customer and be open to change both with the customer and with Leviton
    • Must have leadership skills and which will promote and build a team concept for servicing the customer

    Travel

    • 10% - 20%
